AQTIA Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yukio Kitano, hereafter “AQTIA”) and Alibaba Cloud (Singapore) Private Limited (Headquarters: 51 Bras Basah Road, #03-06 Lazada One, Singapore 189554; Vice President: Selina Yuan, hereafter “Alibaba Cloud”) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 24, 2024, in Paris, France, to establish a strategic partnership. This partnership aims to provide end-to-end support, from strategy planning to implementation, for clients’ new business and digital transformation (DX) initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan.

1. Background of the Collaboration
A significant number of clients face challenges in advancing new business initiatives or digital transformation (DX) due to a lack of information and experience with the latest technologies. This gap often prevents them from developing effective strategies to address their challenges. Even when technical Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives are undertaken, many projects stall at the technology validation stage, failing to fully utilize the PoC for the intended business innovation or DX.
Furthermore, while these clients are well-versed in their core operations, they often lack a partner who can provide seamless, end-to-end support—from planning through service development to ongoing operations. This absence of comprehensive support slows down the process of launching new businesses or implementing DX with agility.
In response to these issues, AQTIA, which provides support across all stages from planning to development and operations, and Alibaba Cloud, a global leader in cloud services and AI technology, have established a strategic partnership. Together, they aim to offer comprehensive solutions tailored to clients’ business needs, accelerating the promotion of new business creation and DX initiatives.
2. Overview of the Strategic Partnership (MOU)
Building on the above background, AQTIA and Alibaba Cloud will collaborate on the following initiatives to provide comprehensive, end-to-end support for clients aiming to drive new business and digital transformation (DX).
(a) Collaboration Focused on Client New Business and DX-Related Areas
- Both companies will collaborate primarily on client initiatives related to new business and DX, supporting the development and execution of effective strategies.
(b) Joint Implementation of Business Planning for New Business and DX Initiatives
- AQTIA will support the exploration and development of business plans, while Alibaba Cloud provides expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as AI, which AQTIA incorporates into the planning process.
(c) Design and Execution of Proof of Concept (PoC) Based on the Business Plan
- AQTIA will support the design and execution of the PoC, while Alibaba Cloud will provide the necessary resources specifically for the PoC implementation.
(d) Design and Build of Commercial Services Based on the Business Plan and PoC Results
- AQTIA will be responsible for business design, system architecture, and development, while Alibaba Cloud will provide the necessary resources and expertise in advanced technologies.
(e) Support for the Operation and Expansion of Commercialized Services
- AQTIA will provide operational support for business continuity, while Alibaba Cloud will deliver a stable service infrastructure.
