AQTIA Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; CEO: Yukio Kitano, hereafter “AQTIA”), a company specializing in planning, development, and operation for new business creation, has announced a three-company collaboration with Lenovo Japan G.K. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Taro Hiyama, hereafter “Lenovo”) and Grace Technology Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; CEO: Tomoyuki Watanabe, hereafter “Grace Technology”), Japan’s first specialized manual creation company. This partnership aims to support end-user implementation of the 360-degree video and image-based VR training solution “Uptale,” which is compatible with Lenovo’s “ThinkReality VRX” VR device.
Through this collaboration, AQTIA leverages its expertise in applied cutting-edge technology, Lenovo contributes its AR solutions, and Grace Technology brings its manual creation expertise. Together, the three companies will support VR training implementation to enhance operational efficiency for end users.
About ThinkReality VRX
ThinkReality VRX is a high-end VR device designed for enterprise use. Equipped with Qualcomm’s XR chipset, “Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1,” it enables mixed reality (MR) experiences with full-color video passthrough. Primarily intended for corporate applications, ThinkReality VRX is optimized for VR training and 3D design for employees, featuring four front-facing cameras for 6DoF tracking and a rear-mounted battery on the strap for balanced weight distribution.
About Uptale
Uptale is a solution that allows field training to be conducted on VR devices using 360-degree videos and images.
Field training is a method that enables frontline employees to acquire the skills, behaviors, and reflexive responses needed for their jobs. However, physical constraints such as halting production lines for training and the time and travel required for employees are common challenges.
With Uptale, end users can create and use interactive field training in a VR environment without coding, using 360-degree videos and images of their workplace captured independently. This enables rapid digital training, helping frontline employees effectively acquire practical skills. Uptale has been implemented by over 100 international companies worldwide, yielding significant results by enhancing training efficiency and employee engagement.

Support for Implementing VR Training
AQTIA and Grace Technology support the transition from traditional on-site field training to VR field training, enabling training to be conducted anytime, anywhere.
Our implementation support service goes beyond just training for Uptale usage and creating 360-degree video content. We also analyze existing training materials, conduct interviews with operators, and assist in developing training scenarios tailored for VR environments.
By leveraging this support service, the onboarding process, which typically takes six months, can be shortened to approximately three months.
About XR Solutions
The three companies have collaboratively developed VR training and AR manuals (previously announced) as part of the XR Solutions service package. This offering provides end-to-end support, from selecting the optimal solution to meet client needs through to planning, development, and operational support.
